Nah, it's just practice Kat - keep your eye lid closed (hold it shut if you can't any other way) and instead of drawing the line from the outside of your eye in using feathered strokes, try from the inner lid out in one quick and continuous motion. Also, make sure your pencil is always sharp.

There is a dry liner that you add water too. "Maybelline" it has a small brush and you can practice and not hurt yourself.

The way you line an eye.
Blink! Drip the brush, Start at lash line on top inside and gentley pull the brush along the lash line or IN the lash line.
Your eye that you are apply will follow your movement.
The thickeness is your heavy handed moves or a pencil not sharpened to a point.

I always do my lash "work" in the morning and wear water proof makeup. I will take the time in a magnified mirror and do it.
I only do it once a day. My lip liner a re apply several times a day.

Practice often and get a really good makeup remover Lancome is my favorite. Its clean and easy to reapply asap.

I love cliniques water resistant eyeliner. Kind of looks like eye shadow. It is a cake like product that you add water to moisten, and then with tiny brush draw right along the lash line. Very precise and not as weird looking as the really thick brush types that come in the liquid eyeliners.

As far as applying it, I usually take one finger, pull eye lid taut and then with other hand brush on the eyeliner.

when you put it on dont rush and tilt a little downward, dont have it directly going straight point forward to your eye and if it is to thick of a line pull your lid down and use your other hand and use ur finger and push up....im assuming your putting eye liner on your bottom eye lid
