ok hun, I'm gunna tell you something. I had an abortion, I was young and not ready and I did the right thing for me at the time. Now I am 5 weeks pregnant. So, yes you can be pregnant after having an abortion. If you have been trying ever since 2002, then maybe you should go to a fertility specialist. Good Luck.

You should see an OB/GYN for some tests.
Ask them to see, first, whether your fallopian tubes are blocked (that can be one result of the procedure if the doctor is hurried at all). The test for that is kind of painful, but worth it to find out.
If they are, that's likely your problem. They can be cleared and things will be easier afterward.
If that's not it, there might be uterine scarring. Your OB can also check on that for you.
If all those tests come out normal, then you need to chart your fertility (you could also try this first if you like).
Chart your basal body temperature. A basal thermometer costs less than $10 at Wal-Mart. Google "charting BBT" to find out exactly how to do it, and set up an account at FertilityFriend.com. It will analyze your chart for you to see when you are ovulating.
Observe your cervical mucus for signs of ovulation. Google "fertile cervical mucus" for info on how to collect it and how to decide whether it's fertile.
Use OPKs (pee-on-a-stick, like a pregnancy test), which will turn positive when you are nearing ovulation. Google "how OPKs work" to find out everything you could ever want to know.
This is assuming you know why you want to have sex while you're ovulating, and what ovulation is. If not do some serious research by Googling "female menstrual cycle and conception".
Sorry you've been having trouble. After my own D&C a couple years ago, one of my fallopian tubes was blocked. It did clear on its own, though. So there's hope for you yet. Decide which route you want to go first (I'd advise the OB checkup) and keep trying by charting your fertility. Good luck.
- To all you pro-lifers who're thinking about giving me thumbs down as you're reading this: Do you know WHY I had a D&C? No? Because the baby was dead. It's really sad that I have to put this after EVERY answer in which I mention it. But if I don't I get several thumbs downs. And that's kind of upsetting, given the situation.-

Ok, while it is possible for abortion to harm your chances of getting pregnant, it is VERY rare, and usually after multiple abortions.
People who are telling you that you might be infertile just want to preach to you about abortion.
Which is really ridiculous. You already had the abortion, and people are STILL trying to make you feel bad.
Anyways, the best thing for you to do is see your doctor. There could be many other factors involved. It might even be your partner being infertile and not you. There are just SO many reasons it could be. It probably has nothing to do with your abortion.
I hope you figure it out and I wish you the best of luck.

Well 1 abortion should not have affected you from getting pregnant. If I were you I would consult your doctor for an exam to see if their is a reason. maybe the clinic left a little scarring. You could also try ovulation kits to see if they will increase your chances of becoming pregnant. before you head off to the doctor.

You haven't been able to get pregnant. Well that is one thing they don't do is explain to woman the after affects of abortion. I am doing a research paper on abortion. There are so many things that it can do to your body. One is infertility. Sorry but you may not be able to have children because of your abortion.

Your trying to get pregnant? You and your husband should schedule an appointment. The doctor will help you determine the day you ovulate. That will help you get pregnant faster b/c when you ovulate is that you get pregnant.
