Maybe they should not teach false information. Some of us actually beleave what they are taught

Yeah, it was.
Sex ed nowadays tells you nothing. The few 'facts' that you might catch from memorizing stuff for tests (if you even have them) are myths. As you've found.
Women can ovulate at any time in their cycles. BTW, just so you know in the future ... counting 14 days from your period to figure out when you ovulate doesn't work, either. Each woman is different.
But, things happen. All you can do is make the best of them. Tell every teenage girl you know about this new information, to make sure THEY don't believe it.

I have never in my life heard of anyone being taught in sex-ed that you can't get pregnant during your period. Most likely, you heard them wrong. You absolutely CAN get pregnant during your period.

the first thing they told you was that only abstanance was 100%.... not even birth control is 100%. you usually ovulate 14 days after the first day of your period and you usually go 28 days inbetween.... that is not 100% right for 100% of women.

sperm can stay alive for up to 4 days so if you had sex toward the end of your period then you can get pregnant.

If the egg hasn't been released before you have sex, you can. As long as the sperm meets the egg before it sheds, you can get pregnant.
