That's sort of a hard question to answer. For me it depends on what decade and genre we are talking about. If its a song from before I was born, it's have to be "Cara Mia" by Jay and The Americans. My dad used to dance with me as a little girl to that song. If it were from my generation, most likely "The River" by Garth Brooks. That song has several special and meaningful events behind it.

It changes all the time... but overall it has to be either Tangled Up In Blue or Idiot Wind both by Bob Dylan... The lyrics are simply INCREDIBLE!!! Listen to both songs and you will find out... you can find them on the album Blood on the Tracks

Comfortably Numb by Pink Floyd

That whole song just makes me drift away to a special place where I'm really just into the music, and I cant be distracted.....then that second guitar solo just moves me to another dimension completley.....30 years old, and it still does it without fail.

love will tear us apart by joy division - just superb. haunting, tragic, beautiful and heartfelt. simply gorgeous, and so poignant give ian curtis' suicide the in the month preceeding it's release.

Love will tear us apart

When routine bites hard
and ambitions are low.
And resentment rides high
but emotions won't grow.
And we're changing our ways
taking different roads.

Love, love will tear us apart again.
Love, love will tear us apart again.

Why is the bedroom so cold
turned away on your side?
Is my timing that flawed
our respect run so dry?
Yet there's still this appeal
that we've kept through our lives.

Love, love will tear us apart again.
Love, love will tear us apart again.

Do you cry out in your sleep,
all my failings expose?
Gets a taste in my mouth
as desperation takes hold.
Why is it something so good
just can't function no more?

Love, love will tear us apart again.
Love, love will tear us apart again.
Love, love will tear us apart again...
