America became so divided during the cold war that everyone is a minority.
You have to consider the Irish factor. All the presidents for the last 50 years have been of Irish decent. Don't think about that to much. Irishmen in politics is so overwhelming that doesn't make sense.

I don't think it would have much of an effect on anything. If anything happened, it would increase our world legitimacy. Other parts of the world where white people are not the majority, it would be a breath of fresh air to see a non-white person as the president. Other than that...nothing really.

If the person was competent... ran the country well, did a good job... Nothing. Listen, I'm white, 64 years old, and I DON'T CARE about color. As far as I'm concerned, I'd love to see Colin Powell and Condeleeza Rice run for office. Both are brilliant, and both could run this country as good or better than anyone else I can think of.

i dont think USA ever had an minority president. BUT i think it will be great if they had one. IT will show what a great country usa is and the diversity even though there will always be some racists who are against this .

I don't even know what this means. I think I resent the notion that somehow the person's race should have a special effect.

In the best of all worlds nobody would notice Obama's color much. But although FAR better than Dumbya, (need ANYONE say), he is not on the top of my list.
