haven't heard that name in a long time...

It isn't even close. Commissioner Gordon long ago passed on the kind of hands-on work Tracy engages in on a daily basis. When Gordon needs help, he's got the bat signal. He's out of breath by the time he reaches the roof...

Tracy still runs down the the crimnial element in the city, gets the girl, uses all the cool tech at his disposal and has his own sidekick.

Gordon calls this one in. Tracy wins in the time it takes him to answer his 2-way watch radio.
