I have a connection that is new to telstra bigpond: 'ADSL2'.
I have never had a connection before, however my friend has 'ADSL' and while he down loads from Lime Wire his connection speed averages at between 1 & 5KB/s.
For the past week (since connected to ADSL2), i have been connecting between 30 to 60KB/s sometimes it sits around 70 to 90! I have even clocked 110KB/s+. while downloading 9 at once!!
The last 2 days i have only been connecting between 1 & 9KB/s!!
It's a frustrating drop !Does anyone know why?
Also what Is the difference between 'T1, T3or higher, Cable DSL
and Modem.
My speed is specified in the options(limewire tools) as modem????

THANX!!

If your speed is specified as modem then it will max out at 56kbs. You need to change it to your actual connection type and it will allow you to get higher download speeds. Also, I know a program that will allow you to widen the Recieve Window for you internet and allow you to download faster than ever on your computer.

TCP Optimizer
Go to: http://www.speedguide.net/downloads.php

After you download, run the program and then you will be required to restart your PC. After that you should notice improved speeds.

Well, that speed isn't amazing to me! It depends on the other people who have the file your downloading. With all 10 connections, I've downloaded at over 300K/s before (one download), and 2 Mb/s with several downloads going at once...
