In my own words, love is caring so deeply for someone that you place their needs and desires above your own

(1) To love is to understand
(2) To love someone is to want that person to be happy, especially to put someone else before yourself
(3) In the Bible, to love your neighbor means to care for that person's soul, in other words whether you like or detest someone
(4) Love is the force, the reason for the world and what keeps it going. It is the driving force behind all life.

These are my own words, though I am quoting myself from previous answers. It seems to be a very popular question!

"If Love were a bird, it would be an albatross with those grand wings of his. If Love were a flower, it would be a red rose - with thorns surrounding the blushing bloom. If Love were a chocolate, it would be dark and bittersweet. If Love were an angel, it would be you."
These are the very words which I used when I spoke to the one I love.
