I was really happy at the beginning of the year- I was getting straight A's, and really happy all the time, and then now everything is going downhill. I've gained 10 lbs, but still have the chest of a 5th grader. All my friends are being bitchy, the last guy who told someone he liked me was in kindergarten- although I don't think there is something terrubly wrong with me. My grades have dropped, my room is a mess, and I'm too tired to do anything about it. Right now I'm waiting two days until I can sleep for the three weeks of winter break. Everyone is off having the time of their life, and I'm depressed, in my room, writing on yahoo answers. Does anyone else have these times, and what do you do to get out of them?

I realize that I'm going to get a lot of replies about the starving children in africa, and being grateful for what I have, and praying. But I am grateful, and I do know that I'm lucky, and I don't believe in an omnipotent god who will intervene, or really any god. But right now I'm upset and I need to rant and I want advice.

I think everyone has times like that. When winter break starts you really need to catch up on your sleep. I am kinda going through something like that too. My best friend has become quite bitchy, I am a a bit overweight,(my parents say that I will be thin when I grow, I am only 4 foot 9 inches, but WHEN WILL I GROW!!??) I am constantly tired...
E-mail me at rachelthegreat11@yahoo.com if you want someone to listen to your rant and to talk to! (I swear I won't be bitchy)

I have those times and I'm 40, happily married with 3 great kids. Nothing is wrong with you, could be you just need a nap or you just need to be cranky right now. Try going to a tanning bed for a while, the "summer" light will help you perk up and give you some energy, be glad you have a normal chest size, I had to have a breast reduction, know in your heart that women are just bitchy sometimes, it's our right, gaining weight is normal as you grow up, have an ice cold Dr. Pepper and a Snickers, then go for a walk (will cancel the Snickers out and you will be surprised how well it works to perk you up.), keep telling yourself that if you pull your grades up, you will get into a great college, have a fabulous career and will be able to pick and choose the guys you want. Shove all your messy junk in your room under your bed and deal with it later, just tell your mom not to look under the bed. And, not everyone is having the time of their lives, they are having to deal with bitchy friends and weird guys and worrying what their hair looks like... slime around today and just put worry about yourself. Remember, above all, I love you and have totally been where you are... I still go there sometimes.

First of all there are starving children in africa that would love....JUST KIDDING!!! I've heard that so many times and it's so annoying and pisses me off even more! I've definately been where you are and quite frankly it sucks and the only to come out of it is to change your perspective on things...I have the chest of dolly parton...and I've gained 70 lbs, I didnt get enough financial aid to go to college this year and my job is closing the facility here etc...anywho it's all your perception you just have to find the positive which is super hard sometimes...You can email me as well wh8706@aol.com...
If everything else is going wrong you've already made 3 new friends on here...IT'S A START RIGHT?!?

I'm sorry that you're going through such a tough time. Sometimes, when the world is horrible to me, I would just write everything that's wrong in my life on a piece of paper, just keep writing and writing and writing, and then rip up the paper and throw it away. It's a great way to get your intense feelings out of yourself. Consider punching something soft, like a pillow or a beanbag chair. Not your siblings! Don't worry about it, you'll grow out of it one day soon. Consider talking to a trustable adult and seeing a doctor if this is still going on 2 weeks after school starts again. Lots of empathy!

Hey, I get this way all time! I write to get my depression and frustration out because I don't find it easy to talk to other people about my problems. Since my sixth grade year I was very much like this. It scared my mom and some other adults and so they thought therapy was the best thing for me. It didn't work because I didn't want it, but it could work for you. Find things that you enjoy doing, even if you don't like the other people that do those same activities. I joined our high schools Drill Team and Track team just to work my frustrations out. Excercise (ok my spelling is awful) has been shown to help release chemicals in your brain that help relieve stress and make you happy. But anyway, writing is my best way of relieving my pain. At first it seemed like that things I wrote were "stupid" but no one else has to read them and you understand how you feel better than anyone else. If you can, find someone to talk to, if not just tell yourself that life goes on. Make a list of goals you'd like to achieve in your life and hang it up somewhere or something. Sorry if this wasn't very good help, but I understand (as much as I can) about how you feel.

honestly, i think everyone has those times. i know what happens to me when i have to vent about how bad my life is, there are ppl listening and they tell me about their life, and its almost always 10 times worse. so i dont even bother to vent to ppl except my bf and my bff. i think hearing how other ppl's life is makes me more depressed, id rather just not hear it. my advise is to have the "screw everybody" attitude for a couple weeks, but im sure you will be happy on christmas! and when you get back from x-mas break, id find some diff. friends, and a diff. guy!
