in part 1 = Gaara owned Sasuke a**, gaara defeated Sasuke with his demon's power ( sorry i dont know what they called it in japanese)
in part 1 = Sasuke nearly defeated Gaara with his chidori but failed to hurt him badly (maybe just a little scratches).
overall = Gaara is more powerful than Sasuke because he got a demon sealed inside his body. Only hosts like naruto can beat him with his Kyuubi's chakra.
part 2 = I heard the Akatsuki group has extracted teh demon out from Gaara so Gaara would have to use his own chakra without the help of the demon
part 2 = Sasuke gained more powerful than before with the help of Orochimaru. He learned many new forbidden jutsu so I can say Sasuke can defeat Gaara in part 2

Sasuke can't take Gaara down, Gaara's just to strong
I mean sure, when gaara and sasuke were fighting sasuke looked like he was going to win, but that all changed when they went to the forest
Sasuke couldn't take Gaara on and nearly lost if it wasn't for Naruto.
So im srry to say that Gaara will win not Sasuke >_<

This fight, is it according to the two before the attempted destruction of Konoha or after the Bijuu was extracted from Gaara?...
During their Chuunin exam match, Sasuke has the ability to Copy Lee's speed, automatically giving him an advantage over Gaara. Like his fight with Lee, Gaara's Shukaku was struggling to protect him with the sand, Sasuke was too fast. As well, Sasuke's Chidori tore through his "ultimate" defense. But later on against the fight with Kimimmaro, Gaara showed great skilled, and variety within his jutsu, taking on a monster basically, a monster that was beating a wound Lee. But when Gaara changed into the one tailed racoon, Sasuke had no shot. Couldn't touch him. It was Naruto and his summoning Jutsu that saved Konoha from the Racoon. Sasuke had to sit and watch the battle on a tree limb, which inevitably drove Sasuke to seek more power from Orochimaru.
Now, if one were to pit the two against one another, Sasuke would annihilate Gaara hands down. Sasuke is so quick at this point, an Anbu Ops member by the name of Tenzou couldn't keep up with him when team 7, including Naruto and Sakura with a new guy Sai, infiltrated Orochimaru's headquarters. He was so skilled with his Chakra, that he converged his Chidori from a focused attack into an all consuming attack that didn't allow Naruto to touch him. Sasuke was able to enter the mind of Naruto and come face to face with the Nine Tailed Fox, stare him straight in the eye and scoff at him. He is so skilled at this point, Orochimaru had to tell him to not kill Naruto fore he had plans for the young Ninja.
As Kazekage, Gaara was skilled, saved the sand Village from being obliterated by Diedara of Akatsuki, but it cost him his Bijuu for when he got captured, Akatsuki stripped him of his Raccoon, inevitably weakening Gaara. If it weren't for Chiyo, an elder of the sand village sacrificing herself to save gaara, and Naruto, Gaara would be dead. Gaara took on an Akatsuki member and most likely would have won if it weren't for the cheap shot in attacking the Sand Village, but Sasuke is being taught by Orochimaru, one of the legendary sannins who too was a member of Akatsuki at one point. Orochimaru took on the other two sannins and lived to tell about it, also took on a 4 tailed Naruto and lived to tell about it.
As of the time line now, a weakened Gaara would lose to the ever growing Sasuke, but during the Chuunin exam, Sasuke would have struggled and did struggle against Gaara ultimately failing to do what Naruto did, defeat Gaara and his Raccoon Demon.

Gaara. Sasuke's current level isn't strong enough to take down Shukaku (Gaara's demon) And Naruto totally saves his as$.

Well, uh, i'm going to spoil it for you. Neither one wins cuz Oro crashes the party in the middle of their battle. I know cuz i've already seen past that episode . Sasuke does injure Gaara though with his chidori on the shoulder. Then Gaara freals out and his demon starts to come out.

they are not by shonen jump/ viz they are dubbed by shonen jump/viz.... sasuke, gaara defeated sasuke but sasuke was weakenned bye curse mark and saide trached bye temari and his powers tripled since then
