You can see a space launch from anywere once you know where to look, offcourse this will be easyer if one took place at nigth cose you would see either the reacters or the reflection on the fusalage from the sun :-)

I would guess for miles. I live in CA and we see space missles being launched from 30, 40 and 50 miles away. So depending on the terrain (mountains, hills, buildings etc...) I would say at least 30 miles. It will light up the sky intensly!!! Hope that helps :)
