im just worried about what will happen to my daughter if anything ever happens to me. is there somewhere online i can fill out something like this for free?

Go see a lawyer, they usually will give you a free consultation. I did the same thing and got a legal will drawn up for $50.00. I thought that was cheap, considering it took care of my wishes for my children, I'm a single parent. They should also let you make payments if necessary. Good for you for wanting to care for your child, you must be a good mother. You could look up legal docs on line and get one notarized...

Some states have very strict formalities that you must comply with for your will to be valid. In other words, you can't just write "I here by leave my house to..." on a napkin and expect it to hold up in court. Go see a lawyer. There's no way around it. You wouldn't set a broken bone yourself or perform your own root canal would you? Why would you try to do this on your own.

A handwritten will will work. It can't be typed or anything--it's got to be written out in your own real handwriting. Then, it will be vaild. Make sure someone in yoru family knows where it is.
