At most colleges you will have to take the higher math classes such as College Algebra and Calculus as genreal ed courses. However, once you get into serious accounting classes you mostly use only addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Basic algebra is also used occasionally but nothing too serious (in my opnion).

Just remember: Assets = Liabilities + Stockholders Equity ......and.....Debits = Credits!

yes..a lot of adding and subtracting...like keeping a checkbook...you have to be add and subtract debits and credits..it's fun once you get the hang on it...nothing like algebra or anything
