okay i am 39 weeks preggie. I went to the doctor yesterday and he said that the baby is ready to go we are just waiting on my body to start contracting or my water to break. well all last night my stomach has been tightening up alot and getting really hard. i don't know if it is my baby though b/c the doc said that he is a well sized baby so when he moves he hurts me. At times the pain will get so bad and sharp that it will stop me dead in my tracks for a min. and yesterday i went walking for 30 mins like the doc told me to do everyday and afterwards i was hurting so bad i was walking so funny. i couldn't even walk without tears wanting to come to my eyes. so i am basically asking should i go to the hospital and get checked out if the pains countinue. they are all the way across my lower abdomin and sometimes i will get a dullin pain in my back but it don't bother me so much (either one of the pains). I JUST WANT TO GO IN LABOR ALREADY IS THIS IT?????

ALWAYS go to the hospital to get checked if you are not sure. Soreness and pressure are both normal, especially after activity, and sometimes fetal movement is uncomfortable. But what you describes sounds like a contraction. You have them throughout your pregnancy and arent even aware of them - these are Braxton Hicks contractions - but some contractions are the real thing. In general, when it's labor, you just know. Go get checked out, cuz yours sound like contractions but you need ot be seen to determine. Good Luck!

Yes that sounds like contractions. You might be going into labor. If the pains continue every 3-5 min don't think twice go. When I was going into labor I didn't know. I thought it was false labor b/c I was 2wks early. When I got to the hospital I was 8 cm dilated.

This could be labor. Sometimes your water won't break and if you wait too long i could cause problems. I'd go get checked just to be sure. It never hurts to know for sure. I wouldn't play around. I know what you mean about the baby stopping you in yout tracks my baby girl does that to me and has fo awhile now. Shekicks so hard! Its crazy. Maybe you should try calling your doctor and asking him/her. Or call the labor and delivery floor but they will most likely tell you to just come in. They can't afford to be wrong.

sounds like labor ! Although the pains are NOT hard enough the pains will become closer together THEN you do need to get to the hospital. You WILL know the differents between them!

Are the pains regular if so they could be contractions and you need to time them. Remember that only about 15% of women actually have their water break.

Tis would most likely be spurious labour. Wait until the pains are regular and more painful
