Controller isn't wireless, he also tried the spare controller and it does it with that one, too.

when it pulls up that message, it is telling you that there are connectivity issues. something is stopping your controller from communicating with the controller port

it might be dust - in which case, you can blow all you want, but you'll be getting moisture in there. an office supply store sells small cans of compressed air, smaller than a can of hairspray, for a dollar or three. they are good for cleaning many electronic items, so their use won't be wasted on one blow

it could be that someone tried to put in a controller plug upside down and bent something, or something similar, in which case a really thin screw driver might be able to get in there to fix it, compare it to the other controller port. this will void your warranty, if you have one.

it could be the controllers - both of yours might be fried, or the plugs themselves might have bent parts. again, compare the plugs, and see if anything looks amiss. borrow a friends controller

it could be that you are using ps1 controllers. they work for most games, but some games actually require ps2 controllers

It usually means the controller socket has an issue. Have you tried playing with a different controller? because if that resolves the problem then the PS2's socket needs work.

Your controllers could be messed up are they wireless. You might want to stop at ebgames or gamestop to see whats wrong other that that he could be pressing to hard on the joysticks and hurting the mother board of the controller.

if its on IE there should be a tan bar right under the window tabs that you have open. You should be able to click on that to "allow popups from this site" etc. If you have the google toolbar there is an icon about to the right, after the Bookmarks and page rank and you can tell it to not block pop ups.

unplug it, blow in it, blow in the port that it goes in, plug it back in, play with it a little bit.. all it means is that the connection isnt being established, dust could be the problem or maybe something is bent, if you cant figure it out by simple things like that youll probably need to by a new one
