I'm a 35yr old kid with a PSP which is more for older gamers really, being able to watch films, pictures and listen to music on a PSP makes it more of an entertainment gizmo.my kids want a DS just for game playing, they're 10 and 13 and don't touch the PSP at all !!!

I own the PSP still have since 2005 and still works only 1 pixel has died on the screen which is not a big problem at all. I don't see how people like the DS over PSP the PSP has better graphics and better sound. The DS sounds like a game boy and runs of cartridges. Unlike the PSP which has better technology such has having videos/movies, PSP Camera, PSP Go Messenger, Music Photos I think that is great. I played some DS games on my PC through emulation and it was alright it could never beat the PSP though. I just wish more games were coming out on the PSP though

That's an easy question. The DS is so much better, for so many reasons. It has better games with better gameplay, it's more techy than the psp, it has a wider fan base, it is small enough to fit in your pocket (the psp isn't that small for a portable games machine) and it's a lot cheaper! And if you were after all the extras, you could buy a desent portable dvd player for less money and you wouldn't have to buy all your dvd's again (for UMD formats). Anyone who says the psp has better games knows nothing about gaming!!! Nintendo have always been the best company for gameplay games, not the best for power and graphics but first for technology and gameplay (just look at the Wii)

It really depends on what kind of gamer you are. The psp has one advantage that it can play video and if the games you have get boring on long journeys then you can watch a film. BUT!!!! i think that Nintendo is the one to watch and the ds is really good fun for young and old. Where as microsoft and sony are relaying on faster and better looking graphics the games are the same old story. Nintendo being the granddaddy of consoles being one of the first to bring them to your home is really looking to re invent the game experience this is evident both in the wii and the ds.

Ive got an 8 year old and a five year old in my house, they each have a DS and there is also a PSP. The DS is never out of their hands while I prefer the PSP.
If its for a child I would suggest the DS as there is a better range of childrens games and they can chat to each other through them as well as play a lot of games together through the wireless facility.

I have a DS and I wouldn't trade it in for a PSP even if you offered me money. The DS touch screen is a new way to play games and offers something new. The DS can connect, for free, to other DS systems around the world, either via a wireless router or from a Wi-Fi hotspot. I've already played people at Mario Kart via the Wi-Fi system.
The PSP doesn't offer anything new. Who wants to watch movies on such a small screen? The DS is far more unique and accessible for all ages.

The fact that in every major terrortory the DS is outselling the PSP by anything up to 4:1 should give you an idea.
