An interesting homework!

Could you use 'edit' your picture e.g.using photoshop / or draw extra parts in? Start with some metaphor ideas,
E.g. add some bars ....across picture of angry / sad faces "caged emotions"

Download / draw a picture of a diver and a colour the bottom of the picture black..."plunging into darkness"

Grilling a witness , a basket of dreams, sunlight dancing on the water....time flies (a watch with wings...)

Hope this helps!

There's a poem by D. H. Lawrence called Last Lesson of the Afternoon where he uses the metaphor of a hunt to describe the classroom at the end of the school day. Take a picture of a hunt, get a copy of the poem, hope to impress your teacher. A metaphor describes something as if it were something else so you could take a different tack and take one of those obscure pictures where a thing looks like something completely different, like that one where you see either a beautiful woman or an old hag depending on your point of view??

Hi Xandi,

I would suggest "A room with a view" This is the title of a novel by E.M Forster. The metaphore here is that the man in the novel is the room and the girl is the view. A classic example of metaphoric writing. so a photgraph of a girl from a room window would suffice to demonstrate the metaphore.

Hope this gives you some ideas.

Good luck.

A metaphor is a phrase where the writer introduces an alternative idea into their sentence. An example would be:

"The sea was as wild as a pack of wolves..."

An image to illustrate this would be a picture of a pack of wolves.

Put basically, it sounds like that's what you have to do.

Hope that helps.

i think in a sentence it uses the words was like or is. For example, the moon was a 'ghostly galleon'. You need to take a picture of something that looks like something else or gives an impression of something. Good luck cos i don't have a chuffing clue.
