We don't do that because you are hired on skills, not luck of the of the draw. Something should set you apart if you are right for the position.

There were 4 people who qualified out of 210 applications. We did the eeny, meeny, miney, moe and the person is still employed there and has moved up the ladder. 2 out of the remaining 3 were hired in different departments. The last one - well, we lost to a competitor I heard.

Depends on where ya work. There is an automotive factory here in town (pays a lot) after you fill out an application, take a drug test, take a skills test, take a physical.. your application is put into files.. it stays in there foreveeeer.. one guy i know.. got called back 25 years later because they randomly picked out his application from the files.. Sadly that guy to celebrate he went for a "smoke" they gave him another drug test and started him but when they got the results back they had to let him go.
