Do not use water. This will shrink and ruin the shoes by dissolving the glue. You could lightly try alcohol on a sponge to remove light stains. You can cover with calamine lotion or kryolan pointe shoe aqua.

Use calamine lotion, put it on with cotton buds or an old toothbrush. on your pointes but practice first on an old pair of shoes because if not used properly you can ruin the shine.
make sure you dont scrub too hard or else it will ruin the satin.
hope this helps!!

What is on the shoes?
Usually by the time shoes are dirty, they're so broken down that they need to be replaced.

if its just floor "gunk" They have Point shoe make-up that can cover it if you have a show... thats cheaper and faster then replacing semi-ok shoes.
if you don't have a show-- or noone is going to see them outside of class.. leave em' dirty
