How many years do you get if you have a charge attempted murder on a police officer?

Zero. It has to be proven first, then the punishment varies state to state

Attempted murder huh? Has this person been to court yet for this charge? Is he/she in jail now serving time till their court date? I'm not no attorney and you might want to ask one but I think it's primarily up to the states attorneys office and the judge on the sentence. Has this person ever been convicted before on any other charge or is this a first offense? Here in Illinois if a person has been convicted and a guilty charge has been proven the person could get up to 20 yrs.

Because it's attempted murder on a police officer it may be harsher than if the attempt was made on an average joe. Good luck.
