Because Christians believe that they are the only ones with God on their side. They believe they are aways right.

Everyone kinda filters the world around them through their convictions and past experiences. Most people aren't 100% rational or wouldn't agree entirely on what that even meant which is human nature. If what your saying conflicts with something important to them at a basic level they aren't going to accept it on the same grounds you do.
I forget the exact quote, - "every man is an island unto himself" or somesuch. We all see things differently and that doesn't really change, so don't bother worrying about it.

You know it’s like this, I consider myself to be very intelligent. So when a “Christian” comes at me with questions about my lifestyle I’m always ready to debate. For one I went to a private school when I was younger and the one thing I loved about the school was that they taught us tolerance and they also taught us a lot about the history of all religions not just Christianity. I consider myself to know a lot and its nothing to brag, but the next time a “Christian” comes to you and tries to question your lifestyle ask them this doesn’t the bible preach against fornication, doesn’t the bible preach against jealously, doesn’t the bible preach against most of the sins that you commit and see how they try to justify it. Remember we all sin no one is perfect, just because you may think you are a good person doesn’t mean you are going to heaven. Remember John 3:16
Peace

What`s so strange about? They also believe Christ was conceived without human intervention, to start with. Let`s not mention that story of God creating the world in seven days and despite being omnipotent having to rest at the seventh day.

Your question in itself was not illogical. But the comparisons you were making made no sense, really.

you cant equate your sin of homosexuality with eating shellfish or working on the sabbath, what your doing is harmful to your soul and society(aids) , the other stuff are more guidelines for a better functioning community in days gone by.

maybe they also don't want to admit that they don't know the answer to the question at hand? maybe this is how they answer that question they are unsure of.

Why would you expect rational thinking from irrational, superstitious anti-intellectuals?
