Ok, it is so wrong to be attracted to the same sex. It isn't natural and God doesn't want you to be like that because he started out with a guy (Adam) and a woman (Eve), not two guys. And it's really gross when people say I have urges for the same person. Eww! Eww! Eww! And, my real question is:

Is there a cure for gayness?

I'm not gay (Or a lesbian for that matter), but I know somebody who is but isn't proud of it.

I look down at all the answers and everybody who is against me has put in a comment about themselves being gay. This does not surprise me. I just don't think we should go into public and kiss the same sex. And I have a wonderful boyfriend is is straight and I think everybody here but me is straight as a circle! I'm as straight as the straightest straight line there is!

Hey! That was mean person ahead of me...anways:
1. There is probablly no cure for gayness. You may try to be attracted to the opposite sex but sometimes it doesn't work out. If you are atracted to both it's bi and you can have a husband/wife and not tell anybody you like the same gender as well.
2. Tell your friend not to worry.
3. Good luck with your social life, and it is true...god did not intend us to be gay.

Homosexuality is not something you can cure because it is not an illness.

Nor is it anything that should be of any ailment to anyone else.

Homosexuality is not an abomination. I am a firm believer that Gay's and Lesbians were born that way. Why would someone chose to be so different? I am not gay, but some of my best friends are. They would give anything to be like other people and be normal. They did not chose to be this way I can assure you. What they do with each other in a sexual manner can be concieved differently. I personally don't have a problem with it. It is their choice and if that is what makes them both happy and they do not drag other people into it, then I see no problem with it. Other people cannot even fathom any justification in two men together and those are the people most commonly known as homophobic in our society.
Gay people might be frowned upon, but so are people who are racist and judge people on the conditions that they were born with.
And tell me this, If God is errorless, how come there are Gays?
I think that God placed homosexuals on earth to teach us acceptance and equality. Noone is getting the point though.

Do you honestly think that a homosexual with a choice would CHOSE to be so different? Do you think that my 13 year old nephew would have cried every night and wrote a 12 page suicide letter if he coulod have just CHANGED his sexuality?

Let me ask you this, can you CHANGE your sexuality? Right now. Try it. Can you CHOSE to be gay right now? I didn't think so. And why not? Because you were born that way.

Do you think that God put homosexuals on this earth so that you all could have someone to abuse?

NO!

they were born with it. you cannot cure homosexuality because there is nothing to cure.

Sure. Adam and Eve give birth to Cain and Abel, and then Cain murdered Abel. And, yeah, there was a lot of incest going on, but we won't talk about that. What a good source of family values the Bible is!

No, there is no cure for being gay, because it is not a disorder. I can say this with confidence because every major mental and medical health organization agrees with me.

Gay people cannot change into straight people. They can only pretend to. They can only go back into the closet and decide to live a lie, to pursue the kind of sham life to which people like you think everyone else should aspire.

No wonder the person you know isn't proud of being gay when there are people like you chanting "Eww! Eww! Eww!" all the time.

you are a silly narrow minded little girl, please crawl back into the hole you came from and be as straight as a ruler for all you like
gayness doesnt need a cure it is not an illness, if it was then nature would have cured it long ago, stop the hate, why dont you try to be gay and see if you can just change, you cannot change or decide your sexual orientation, hopefully one day you will understand that and open your mind.
If God hated gay people then why would 1 in 10 of them be gay?, surely god would have killed them all of by now, see The worldy flood in Noah, and the burning of Sodom and Gomorrah, homosexuality has been around since man has been around so surely it must be a part of us and not an abnormality, you need to rethink your life and views on others as homophobia is only a step. away from racism

There is no "cure" for gayness anymore than there's a cure for being straight. I firmly believe that gayness is biological. There are of course bisexuals who are interested in men and women. Sometimes people think they have "cured" a gay person, but that person was probably bisexual and then just concentrated on one sex. You should not hate people just because they are different from you. Gay people have been persecuted and even killed for being gay. It's only been in the 20th century that gay people could start to come out of the closet and be themselves. As for what God wants you to do, I think he wants us to love other people and not judge.

Nope, but I do have feelings AGAINST you! Of course it takes oppisite genders to make a child, but since when does that have anything to do with right and wrong. There is no cure for being gay because being gay isn't a disease. I'd rather my kids grow to be gay than to be as ignorant as you are. Get off of the computer and go do something that will help everyone out, like jump off of a cliff.
I also have some bad news for you, there is no cure for being stupid.

I'm pretty sure that bible you keep quoting said something about not judging others and freedom of choice. Oops I forgot, you only read the parts of the bible you like, and forget all the rest.

Would you like someone to persecute you for your choice to be a
christian? So why do you persecute others, when we are supposedly all God's children? (Even the gay ones, miss I'm-so-straight)
Is there a cure for being a hypocrite?
How can you say you are a christian, but then go about your days doing un-christian things?
What would Jesus do?
He created everything and everyone right?
And he knows everything that's going on right?
So why don't you step off your soapbox and let Him handle it?

A small minority (but a lot if you look at some recent -coughack-"questions") of people are against gays, fully against. So no, you're not alone, but you're not surrounded by people either. Nor are your cohorts in hate smart, but hey.
"Gayness" is not a disease. It is a quality of a person that makes him/her beautiful for accepting it and living with it, which is hard to do when you're bombarded with this shee-it day after day. You cannot change it, but you can deny it.

Little Girl,

You really need to try to be more tolerant and stop being so sure of yourself, and that you alone have the answers. I notice from your other answers you are rather precocious, but you have nothing to back it up. You dole out advice yet are remarkably clueless.

Open your eyes, instead of spouting off misinformation, perhaps take time to listen. Read, and learn. Don't assume you know it all. You reveal yourself to be a rather mediocre person that really needs to start being open to new things.

Sad, really.

Dear, you must have some kind of issues if you feel the need to try to shove your religious beliefs down other people's throats. Can't you just live your life peacefully according to your beliefs and not try to horn in on everyone else's life? Also, you really seem to overstress the point that you're not gay and that you're straight, straight, straight. I think this may be a case of "me thinks ye doth protest too much". Closet queen, anyone?
