Do you think our current administration (or past, if you prefer) is promoting or destroying that legacy?

Wow, I was hoping this question would draw people in from the "Is Michelle boffing Sean" garbage, but I guess I expected too much.

I think your question is just too thought-provoking.
To the first question, of course anyone with any sense would say that they want to leave a better world for their descendents.
The current administration...well...that's difficult to say. I think the answer is both yes AND no.
Yes, because the illegalization of partial-birth abortion was a step in the right direction.
The war in Iraq WOULD have been a better idea, if we were more intent on winning, rather than fighting a politically correct war.
The war in Afghanistan would have been a better idea, if we had kept troop levels up.
The problem with the last two, of course, is that now we're in two wars which are quickly raising our deficit, with no hope of a complete drawdown of troop levels any time in the near future.
Of course, these were unforeseeable challenges, but still.
So as I said, yes AND no.

I'm going to get thumbs-down for this answer, I think, because I'm riding the fence here.

I personally do not define my child's future solely in monetary terms. I do not want the next generation to be saddled with debt, but I do want them to remain free to enjoy the rights I have enjoyed.

What price can you put on freedom? If radical Islam is truly the world threat they are claiming to be, we need to defeat them, at any cost.
