while those might be much safer, there is no email totally safe,,,,, there was recently even a hacker at the Federal Student Aid web site, which has alot of personal info. with that said,,, i really dont see a reason to need to send your SSN in a email,,,, wouldnt you at some point fill out a paper copy, or else see the college admin or military recruiter in person? at which time you could give the info to them,,,,,,
and, finally, the best prevention, to your ssn being used, is to sign up with social security, if you havent already, for their free yearly summary,,,,,,, that way you can atleast see if any activity other then you has been on your account,,,,,

No, I would *never* e-mail my SSN.
It's not because of lack of trust at the final destination, it's because your e-mail will hit dozens and dozens of 'net servers before it gets to its destination -- and any one of those could pluck it off and get your SSN.
No, there is no such thing as a secure e-mail address, even a military one. Unless it's on a completely private network.

NO!! you should never email your SSN, driver's license, credit card or bank numbers as they can be hacked yes even on a secure connection. If you have already, don't do it again. If someone needs that info bad enough you could maybe fax it or hand deliver it.

Really a big mistake. You should call all your credit card companies an advise them what you just did. So that they can red flag your credit cards in case a puchase is made, they will perform additional verification from the person making the purchase.

I wouldn't do it. If they are legitimate you can call them and give it to them that way. Identity theft is very easy and I wouldn't risk having to go through all that when you can just give them a call. Just make sure that you're calling the right place. All colleges should have their phone number on their website. I would call that number and no others.

at times human beings write their e mail handle incorrect and that they like to envision if the only that they have got is robust. you may continually get a shorter e mail handle or use replica and paste. that's in actuality the comparable theory as typing your password two times on varieties.

You don't know the person on the other end of the computer that may "memorize" your number or slip it into his/her pocket. Guard your personal information carefully.
