I thought this was a joke when a friend sent me this article. What is the world coming to? Are becoming overly sensitive?

I just think that we are getting way too sensitive. That was a 4 year, I feet that the aid could have let the boy know that was wrong...if indeed he felt her breast. Any he's a baby,

Reminds me of an 8th grade student charged with assault and battery for running into a teacher by accident in the cafeteria.
The subsequent court and legal actions caused so much emotional trauma, the student was forced to drop out.
Accidental contact is going to happen. If schools don't provide resources, training, or programs for mediating conflicts, and fail to establish the true meaning or "spirit" of a law or policy and whether it applies to a case, abuses of legal charges and complaints may continue to occur until this problem is solved.
Another controversial policy concerns banning weapons without having a clear description of what qualifies as one. There were two disturbing cases in Houston, where one girl got in trouble for carrying a keychain that was deemed to be a dangerous weapon, and another case involved a Korean honor student expelled for bringing a razor-like blade that she used to sharpen her pencil, as is the custom in her home country. Instead of mediating or allowing due process, she was immediately punished for possessing a weapon, and also lost her position on the honor roll or honor council.
By Constitutional principles, this would be a violation of the right to due process for either the students or for their parents in the case of minors.
So again, until schools provide a better means of redressing and resolving conflicts and policy issues, there is a risk of mishandled cases that will continue to make headlines if they are ridiculous enough, as a sign that something is wrong with the system.

this isn't a joke. I am a 10 yr mentor at a school near my home. We are not allowed to hug the kids. the school dist. felt it would be better this way, than to have a child go home and say that their teacher or mentor touched them.
I was surprised that it wasn't the teacher's aide that was suspended....for that is the way it usually goes.
It sad but true, many a good teacher has been let go from their job because a student said they touched them...when in actual the teacher only hugged them....and yet their are the teacher's that do need to be suspended due to in appropriate touching.

That is a little ridiculous. A four-year old has no idea what sexuality is...even if he knew it was wrong to touch a woman in that area, he wouldn't know WHY. I think it's sad that the world has come to this...it's going to make people be afraid to show any affection...and c'mon, what is that teacher's aide thinking? She's been sexually harassed by a four-year old? I think she is the one with problems, because I would not even THINK of a four-year old in that way. I think she just wanted attention.

That's crazy. Unfortunately it's obvious that the woman has a problem, not the child. I have 2 four year old nephews and they don't even comprehend the concept of sex. I hope that this situation doens't screw up that little boy too much.

i have in no way heard of that before. sounds like this instructor is carefully over-reacting. A kiss on the cheek at 4 years old? maximum folk would imagine it truly is somewhat sweet. see you later because the mummy did no longer have a difficulty with it, i do not imagine the instructor must be in contact in any respect.

I feel bad for the family. The aide should be jailed for defamation of character. This could impact the boy's chance to go to college.
