france have quality all over the park. germany are weak in defence, and there are no world class goal keepers coming through, so france.

I would say that they are fairly evenly matched...
But i have to say Germany for these reasons:
1. They are much more consistent
France won World Cup '98, failed dismally in 2002 and then came 2nd in 2006
Germany have been there or thereabouts for ages
2. Germany have better youth
Despite having two 36 year old goalkeepers their average age was one of the lowest in the World Cup '06
3. The German have more guts, no-one rated them at all in the World Cup, but they came third through sheer grit and determination

I think Germany is better because they have won the fifa world cup 3 times while France has won it only 1 time.

not to be biased or anything(half German/Black)
But top goal scorer in the Wc, best young players(Podolski and Schweinstieger) Ballack is a freakin goal scoring machine, the only thing they lack is a strong Central defense.. sure theyve got Lahm but he cant carry the whole defense
if it would have been France vs Germany in the final Germany definately would have won
