Verizon Fios - compare to cable internet and DSL?

I do not have DSL available in my area but can either get cable internet or the new fiber optic service from Verizon called Fios. Anyone have it and what are pros and cons. I'm looking for faster downloading and ability to see videos, etc.

I think if you have comcast or time warner go for that but, fiber optic technology is amazing.
