a friend of mine is baptizing her daughter on Christmas day. Do you usually give presents for that occasion? & any ideas please! I'm new to the US so I'm not very familiar with the customs. I appreciate your help.

Yes, but the gifts are usually small (like a new outfit for the little one, a silver cup or something special for the baby), and a card where you have written a nice and short note of Blessings on the Child as well.

Yes people give gifts on Baptism. Something with the baby's name and baptism day on it would be nice. When we got our daughter baptized someone gave us a photo album with a silver cover with her name and date of baptism. It was nice top put her baptism pictures in. Also something like a baptism plaque would be nice.

Hey there

Yes, you usually do. A gift of some money or a keepsake item always works. For example, when I got baptized one of my parents friends gave me a sterling silver cup with my name engraved on it.

Yes, you do give gifts to the child that is being baptized. You can go to the mall and choose some nice clothing for him/her. It is really not custom to give toys for batisms, but if you want to its okay!..

Another traditional gift is to give the person being baptized a new, nicely-printed Bible, signed by you.

Yes, you could get a little plaque with the name and birthdate on it. or give a card with a little money. A teddy bear. Any small item is traditional.
