Security Requirements—The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) also offers travel tips, and a complete list of items prohibited on flights on its Web site at www.tsa.gov. Please note:
· New security regulations restrict liquids, gels and aerosols in carry-on bags. A passenger can take containers of up to 3 ounces if all are included in a single, one-quart, clear, plastic zip-top bag that is presented to screeners at the security checkpoint. If in doubt, please put liquids in checked luggage.
· Prescription medications, baby formula and milk are allowed in quantities exceeding three ounces and are not required to be in a zip-top bag. Declare these items for inspection at the checkpoint.
· Leave gifts unwrapped, as the TSA may need to unwrap gifts for inspection.

Doing this might ward off time and face. Airport officals can unwrap ANY ingredient that they experience necessary. To be secure, wrap the present once you arrive at your holiday spot.

Yes, if for any reason they supect anything, they will unwrap it. It would be best to mail or leave unwrapped until you get to your destination. My grandson is a sheriff and he has to go through packages. Make sure you don't take any metal, nail clippers, lipstick, keys, lighters. And you can not take any liquid over 3 oz. and it has to be in its original sealed bottle, tube,it is better to buy this after you land. Oh, the liquid includes drinking water. He throws a lot of that in the trash at the airport. Got to be safe.

Melissa, if you want to take it wrapped, get a gift box. That way you just have to reattach the ribbon.
Have a Merry Christmas, dispite the security measures

You'll be required to put the present(s) through the X-ray machine and if the TSO's are suspicious or unsure what is inside based on what they are able to see on the screen, then yes, they will have to open the gift. It might be better to carefully pack them into your checked luggage.

They might. They have the right to unwrap it if they have any questions about it.
Best plan is to take every gift unwrapped.

I'm pretty confident they'll unwrap it--even if you put it in checked luggage and they happen to go through yours. Be nice to your fellow passengers waiting in security and wrap it when you get to your destination.
