Well in 155AD, Justin Martyr was calling it a "Eucharist". How "early" did you mean? You should not forget that all "Early Christians" were Catholics, and the kind of "Christianity" practiced by non-Catholics was only invented about 500 years ago by Martin Luther.

The early word is Eucharist. It is from the Greek and means 'thanksgiving.' Today, more people are calling it communion.
