This might be a dumb question... but it's something I've thought about a bit. You know how we have little pockets of people who live primarily in the big cities who are from other countries and often keep many of the olden traditions? Like Chinatown or Greektown. Are there places overseas where Americans live like that? I know there are Army bases and stuff but are there simple little towns or neghborhoods that just sprung up by themselves. If so, where? And what kind of places are they?

You mean like, Americantowns? No, I have never seen those. In all the countries I have been to Americans either stick out like a sore thumb and annoy the heck out of the natives, or they blend in as best as they can. I try to blend. It also helps that our culture is almost everywhere in some form.

I lived in Sweden, where there is a large expatriate community; they do not live in ghettos as ethnic groups do in the US.
