Isn't it ironic that the very reason why christians believe homosexuality is such a bad thing their religion is based upon?
Christians say homosexuality is wrong because it is unnatural because men and woman are suppose to have sex and pop out half a dozen children supported on welfare. Anyways. But isn't the fact that Jesus was born of a virgin un-natural, or the fact that God, a parent, would willingly sacrifice his son un-natural. Or how about all the miracles (which contain the word unnatural in defination) like Jesus walking on water, raising the dead, turning water into wine, arent they all unnatural. So basically homosexuality is wrong because it isnt natural and believe in God is right because it is unnatural. So Christians just hold a double standard?

That's an original take. If I was one of those idiot morons I might say hmmm right about now. But I wouldn't say the miracles, the virgin birth or the resurrection were unnatural. Rather I would say they were supernatural. God has a nature, and anything They choose to do is natural for Them.
One could argue that since the original sin and the fall, mankind has had the capacity to engage in both natural and unnatural acts. On the other hand, "human nature" is generally regarded as flawed. On yet another hand, when we observe the animal kingdom, we find human intervention sometimes causes animals to behave in ways other than what nature intended. Two examples would be cows being fed meat, or birds singing faster in urban areas. I don't think, however, that human intervention is the reason that we can observe animals engaging in sodomy. I believe it's part of nature.
So, to cut a long story short, I think it's just semantics.

The funny thing about Jesus is that, without all his magic tricks (e.g., walking on water, turning water into wine, raising from the dead, etc.), no one would have considered him anything special.

Lots of people since have claimed to be Jesus, or some reincarnation thereof. Like that David Koresh guy. And people believed him! They had faith. And, as faith so often does, it overrode their common sense. They should have demanded some kind of proof before pledging their lives to his agenda.

Alas, doubt is the enemy of faith, is it not?

I think you make a good point. Obviously, Jesus did some pretty unnatural things; it's not every day that dead people wake up and ascend into the sky, after all. I've seen a lot of gay porn and have yet to see anything as unnatural as that!

Indeed, we have more and more evidence that homosexuality is perfectly natural. But you'll never get the Bible-thumpers to acknowledge any of it because their critical thinking skills have been stunted. They have no use for facts that might raise doubts about the accuracy of their book or their beliefs.

true that!

I am a christian though and I don't think that homosexualiy is bad.

Homosexuality is not an abomination. I am a firm believer that Gay's and Lesbians were born that way. Why would someone chose to be so different? I am not gay, but some of my best friends are. They would give anything to be like other people and be normal. They did not chose to be this way I can assure you. What they do with each other in a sexual manner can be concieved differently. I personally don't have a problem with it. It is their choice and if that is what makes them both happy and they do not drag other people into it, then I see no problem with it. Other people cannot even fathom any justification in two men together and those are the people most commonly known as homophobic in our society.
Gay people might be frowned upon, but so are people who are racist and judge people on the conditions that they were born with.
And tell me this, If God is errorless, how come there are Gays?
I think that God placed homosexuals on earth to teach us acceptance and equality. Noone is getting the point though.

Do you honestly think that a homosexual with a choice would CHOSE to be so different? Do you think that my 13 year old nephew would have cried every night and wrote a 12 page suicide letter if he coulod have just CHANGED his sexuality?

Let me ask you this, can you CHANGE your sexuality? Right now. Try it. Can you CHOSE to be gay right now? I didn't think so. And why not? Because you were born that way.

Do you think that God put homosexuals on this earth so that you all could have someone to abuse?

NO!

geez... people are just retarded sometimes i guess.

it truly is an unique take. If i became one in all those fool morons i'd say hmmm precise about now. yet i'd not say the miracles, the virgin delivery or the resurrection were unnatural. really i'd say they were supernatural. God has a nature, and some thing They favor to do is organic for Them. you probable can argue that because the unique sin and the autumn, mankind has had the potential to have interplay in both organic and unnatural acts. on the different hand, "human nature" is often recognized as incorrect. On yet another hand, after we note the animal kingdom, we stumble on human intervention now and again motives animals to act in innovations except what nature meant. 2 examples will be cows being fed meat, or birds making a music swifter on the city parts. i do not imagine, although, that human intervention is the reason that we may be able to note animals acceptable in sodomy. i have self belief this is part of nature. So, to cut back a lengthy tale short, i imagine this is only semantics.

Maybe.
Its not something gays have to worry about. Unless you believe in God then its too late if you believe the bible. Since homosexuals usually dont have kids (for the most part) they will not live on through their children. I believe this is what is meant by the "afterlife" Since we cant prove that heaven exists how do we know.
Live your life how you want. Why does everyone pick on Christians. Cant pick on anyone else or what. Why worry about it.

If homosexuality was so great why is the Roman Empire gone.

I am a gay man and Jewish, the Reform Jewish movement is strong as with MANY religions. It all comes down to your relationship with G-d. HE is the one to judge at the end, not others and for the matter of it, HE made me and therefore, HE loves me.... I do not hurt others, do not steal and give to my community, what more can we be expected of. Live life and love G-d, all will be fine....

In response to "someguy" and the asker of the question

you are simplifying sexuality which is very complex and confuse sexuality and procreation, two different things.

Good question! I don't think people should have a say in who a person can or can't love. I'm a Christian, but I don't see anything wrong with homosexuality.
