Do not substitute McAfee for your Router/Modem encryption. You need to use both.

This Router/Modem offers WEP and WPA-PSK encryption. You must use the WPA-PSK. Do not use the WEP because is has been broken. Programs are available on the Internet that allows almost anyone the ability to crack WEP encryption.

Yes it will, but I would also suggest to set up security on your broadband router. This involves 4 to 5 key settings with random digits that only you can access. This makes it easier for you and harder for someone piggybacking off of your connection.

The application doesn't know/care about the physical set-up of the networking, all it sees is data coming in and going out.
