They likely will not ask unless the mother is quite far along. I would say yes in the third trimester, maybe in the second, and never in the first. I say this because in the first trimester it is very difficult to determine what's baby and what's not...very tiny, just looks like a mass of blood and clots. You could still have a memorial ceremony to help the parents grieve and heal, regardless.

In most cases when a woman has a miscarriage the fetus has already been expelled from her body by the time she knows what is happening. In the case where it happens later in pregnancy (20 wks is the cut off for it to be called a miscarriage anything after is usually referred to as a stillborn), the parent has the choice and physcologist recommened burial and naming the baby.
The mother needs to see the doctor. After a miscarriage, the doctors may need to do a D&C to remove everything from the uterus. The fetus is still very tiny at 14-16 weeks and I guess it depends.

Ewww..... no. That is just gross. Why would you want to. i have had 3 miscarriages. I wouldn't even want to look at it.

They won't bury a baby unless you are pass 20 weeks. That does seem wrong, but most of the time when a miscarriage happens it is nothing more than the size of a grapefruit or so.

More than likely if you are that far along and you start bleeding you will go to the ER or to the doctor. That usually requires a d&c at the hospital.

No the mother does not get to keep it...you have a miscarriage at home and usually it gets flushed away. Anything under 20 weeks is just disposed of.

EWWW. I would NEVER be able to look at my dead fetus. I miscarried 14 years ago, (I'm 37) and I was two months. The baby is too small! It wasn't even a choice for me. It was just "We're very sorry, but it seems you've miscarried".

i do no longer think of everyone seems to be bitching at you.....you purely would desire to comprehend that what you asked is a frightening question. A fetuses entire existence relies upon on the foodstuff it gets contained in the womb. If it does not get adequate, it would desire to be underweight at delivery and in severe situations be mentally challenged. just about all the foodstuff the mummy takes is going directly to the fetus. If she stops eating the toddler gets what she has in reserve until even that runs out. reckoning on how a ways alongside she is, the toddler would desire to stay after she dies from starvation. Any woman well worth her salt might think of appropriate to the welfare of her newborn previously she thinks approximately herself. God be with you

No, you wouldn't want to. It's actually not called a miscarriage after 22 weeks, it would be called a premature birth. When you have a miscarriage, the baby isn't a fetus yet, usually it's still an embryo and wouldn't even be recognizable. If you have a premature birth and the baby doesn't live, then it's like a death in the family and you deal with it accordingly (burial, etc.)

Of course you don't get to keep the fetus. Are you kidding? If you miscarry, the baby isn't fully developed enough to have a funeral for him/her.
