16 million is fair. If your the Giants management right now, your thinking about dollar signs. He'll pack that ballpark by the Bay, and hit home runs, and haul down Hank Aaron's record, and hug his kid at the plate. He'll make it a long dragged out experience, right up until the early September day the Giants are eliminated from the part of the drama that includes their playoff contention. A year from now the Giants general manager will have his pick from Andruw Jones, Ichiro Suzuki, etc. with Bonds money to spend, a franchise to rebuild and an organizational culture to forget. In the end, it's all about the all mighty dollar for the oranization and Bonds. For the fans, drama right up until October.

Barry Bonds is a CHEATER and the ROIDS are finally taking a toll on his body. He is not physically capable of playing anywhere near the $16 million level anymore.
And 500/500? Have you noticed that the 500 SBs were from when he was skinny and the 500 HRs were from after he roided up? What a bunch of crap.

Heck, NO, he's a known cheater (steroids) so he should feel extremely fortunate that the Giants agreed to re-sign him1 He essentially received this big contract due to the Giants know tons of fans will come (tickets) to see him break Aaron's 755 home run record. Frankly, I think the guy is an A #1 Jerk who does not even belong in the Hall of Fame. He did Not attain many of his records legitimately so who cares what he does now!

you already know what's humorous approximately this? If the Yankees had actual contacted Bonds or his agent some settlement in 2008, which would be tampering because of the fact Bonds remains decrease than settlement with the Giants, subsequently the Yankees may well be breaking a league rule and undertaking to effects. So i might say that your rumor is a lie. Plus the dude is complete. i would not pay him $30k, not to show $30m.

Hey, if you're 42 and getting paid $16 million, that's great. Especially if you're loading up on the juice and you haven't been caught. He is certainly not the greatest player in the game. But if that's what you think, just.. okay then. Intentional walks.. who cares? No offense, but it means you're a threat. And if the guy is on steroids and you don't want to blow the game (pitcher), you would walk him too.

No way. His production is dropping dramatically. He is a liability defensively due to his bad knee. Last season he refused to pinch hit in certain games, that to me showed a lack of repect toward his manager who happened to be one of the most respected men in the game. Alou should have benched him and taught him a lesson. If ever there has been a pima dona in baseball Bonds is now it. Sadly the Giant are in for another season of offfield distraction, and faliure to make the postseason.

No he didn't get ripped off, the Giants got ripped off. Forget all the stats he had. He already got paid very well in previous contracts. Look at his stats last year and tell me what he did to justify being paid $16 million dollars for one year. The only reason he got paid that much was because he puts butts in seats and sells merchandise.

To the contrary!! The fans got ripped off. You must be very new to baseball to say he is the greatest player to play the game. He is, instead, a self-centered, egotistical individual who is not a team player. He cares only for Barry, and until and when the Giants and all of baseball is rid of him, the fans will suffer his nonsense, his unending complaining, his "victim" image. No team with him on it will ever be a winner!!
Chow!!

not at all,
he isnt even worth 16 million anymore. baseball is stupid for not having a salary cap. baseball is full of over paid meat heads who think they are god's gift to the sport. even if noone beats his records (someone eventually will) his HR record will always be marked with an * because of the whole steroid thing.
