You would be better of posting your resume on Craigslist, then a job wanted. Recruiters are always looking on Craigslist for free resumes (I am one of them). You may also want to post it on Monster.com, hotjobs.com and Careerbuilder.com - they are the major employment sites.

This largely depends on the type of job you want. In most cases, employers will post ads online and in the newspaper and they expect the potential employees to come to them. If a company is having trouble finding employees, then they will use a staffing/recruiting agency, not Craigslist.

So, if you do a "job wanted" ad on Craigslist, expect to get many people willing to "hire" you. However, if order for you to be hired, you will need to PAY them some sort of setup fee which results in you loosing money, not making money. Also be aware of people that pose as foreignors looking for somebody to cash their checks in America. I worked at a bank and personally know one of the customers who lost his entire retirement savings to a scam like that.

Now, what types of jobs might you have success with a "job wanted" ad? Technical work for a project-by-project basis.
