It's common, but it may also be because you're on your feet. I know that I had that problem too starting around 33 weeks, and my husband eventually just had to massage and elevate my feet each night. It didn't always stop it, but it helped.

yes, it is unfortunately a part of the pregnancy that usually cannot be avoided. Some say its from standing and the extra weight that you are carrying around. Some say it is that you are not getting enough calcium or too much calcium.

Isn't that the worst pain? I had that with my son in the later part of my pregnancy(like you) and it used to wake me up and sooo very painful and then that pain wont go away cause you cannot move your leg eitherway...so you are just lying there in pain holding your leg and hoping the pain will subside...
I am praying it wont happen again(I am pregnant again) I am actually more scared of that pain than the pain of childbirth...
weird huh

but anyway..Good Luck and talk to your dr. about this.

This is totally common in pregnancy. I've been getting leg cramps too. It's a sign that you're not getting enough potassium -- eat more bananas. What I do when I feel a cramp coming on is instead of pointing my toes, which makes it worse, I flex my foot up. My husband is there on standby to massage my legs too.

I hope this helps! Good luck and congrats! :)

Charlie Horses or muscle spams on your legs is prevalent for the duration of being pregnant. Its often brought about by using loss of potasium...eating a banana an afternoon often enables. i might call your dr nevertheless, your leg in simple terms giving out under you isn't prevalent.

probably a bit of both. Being on your feet can make your muscles hurt more.

I've had horrible charlie horses and bad cramps/pulling in my hip region especially if I'm trying to roll over at night.

Normal... eat a bananna before bed each night (potasium)
But it's just normal the bananna thing didnt' help me, but it may have helped, b/c I didn't get them 3x a night. Only about once a night. I think it has more to do with our blood system while pregnant. I don't know. Just one of the *joys* of pregnancy!

Yes, they are common. I am 32 weeks and it happens to me anytime I am lying down and stretch my legs out. I constantly wake up with them also. I just rub it the best I can. Nothing more you can do.

This is very common in pregnancy....I had it quite often. I have also heard it can be from a deficiency in potassium or calcium.
