Hi, I'm in 8th grade. My school has a tough English curriculum. I've been shaky to some extent on our most recent book The Odyssey, and when I took the test I got a C-. That was surprising since almost all of my other grades are A's or above. My teacher generalized that if you didn't do well you should go speak with her but I lack the confidence to do so and I don't know what to say. What should I do?

Start off by saying that you rather fell behind because it was hard for you to grasp the concepts in the story, and would she be willing to help you with that? Your education is important; don't let this slide.
You write exceptionally well for a student your age. Keep up the good work!
