I am having my second child in early June. When I was pregnant with my son (almost 5 yrs ago) I didn't gain enough weight to need any maternity wear. This time I think I am going to gain a lot more weight, and show a lot differently.
I need tips on a stylish yet frugal and cheap maternity wardrobe. IE- what items did you find you wore a lot, how did you accessorize, how did you still love stylish and sexy? I don't want to end up wearing sweatpants and tshirts constantly!
I am planning on buying maternity clothing at WalMart, and thrift shops... any tips you have would be awesome! Thanks!

I was pregnant during the summer (my "bigger" months) and I lived in the yoga capri style pants from Old Navy - $7.00 a pair. Try looking for shirts that aren't necessarily maternity, but maybe one size up from your norm, a little longer than usual, and look for empire waists (just below your bust) I got away with those and they were a heck of a lot cheaper than maternity clothes. Maternity jeans SUCK so if you're lucky you might be able to find a different "fit" jeans in a size or two bigger and just hem them up to suit your lenght. When all else fails, go for the hubby's sweats!!! Congrats and good luck!!

I bought a few good pairs of pants (capris and jeans) from Old Navy and then I bought cheap tops and lots of em!!! I got most from Ross - very cute and inexpensive. I couldn't stand wearing the same things day in and day out so this is how I had a varied wardrobe. Alot of my maternity tops showed off my fantastic cleavage (so I stayed sexy) and generally I found that maternity clothes really were pretty stylish - a lot better than 5-10 years ago. Also, I continued to wear make up and do my hair (I don't know why some moms don't do this!) and my favorite jewelery. I had a lot of compliments during my pregnancy and it wasn't until the very end that I didn't feel like I looked good (cause I was so huge).

I hope you have a happy, healthy and stylish pregnancy!!

back when i was pregnant 28 yrs ago we did not have the choices you have now. Basic , plain maternity pants. Now the selection is more colorfull and tops are more stylishly made. The pants tend to be about the same but at least there is a variety of color. As long as you feel pretty about yourself you will looks sexy. Pregnant women radiate. And wal mart maternity clothes are just as nice as those at maternity shops and a lot cheaper. Have a healthy baby!

Old Navy, Target and Motherhood Maternity -- that's where I get all my maternity stuff. Just be aware that Motherhood Maternity, Mimi Maternity and Pea in the Pod are all the same chain. The difference between the three is the prices. Motherhood is the most affordable between the three.

Good luck!

Wal Mart has a lot of cute things and since you wont be wearing them long you wont be spending too much. Target has cute things sometimes and also Sears believe it or not. The best is to borrow from friends and family! A must have item is a cami tank top...great to wear under shirts that may be a little low cut, which im not sure why but a lot of maternity shirts are!

Motherhood Maternity has some great clothes at super low prices...I bought a pair of belly panel jeans, a pair of belly panel khakis, and a pair of black dress pants. I also bought a couple of "dressy" shirts, 3 tees, and a nursing bra for $100.

I absolutely love the khakis...they are soft corduroy and feel amazing...extremely comfortable! Plus, you can dress 'em up a bit or dress 'em down by wearing a tee...

Congrats on your second baby!

When I was pregnant I shopped a thrift store called Out of The Closet. I was able to find alot of cute dresses and overalls that made me look cute and adorable, some of the dresses I used cardigans to make them a little more sexier.

Go from Ebay. It's easy, and it's fast.

I wish I had more advice to give to you though. I didn't need much maternity wear either, but I loved the pieces I did get. The large sweaters and skirts were great.
