Sadly, not much size is needed to keep these animals alive in cages. To survive they only need enough room to turn around and stand up. So cages around 4-5 meters on each side and 3 meters high would be somewhere near the minimum size for a single animal. A small cage like this would not be a very healthy environment.

Even though these animals will fit in a small cage, they prefer to have much more space. Most zoos keep lions, tigers, and bears outdoors in large areas so the animals can get exercise, carry on normal activities, and also be around other animals that they get along with.
