If she had vaginal intercourse, she is no longer a virgin.

being a virgin is if you give it up or not. it got taken away from her but that doesnt make her not a virgin. it hurts the same way as far as self esteem if not more. because of the rape she will feel less of a person but encourage her to seek a support group that deals with this stuff cause getting raped will have her asking a lot of questions that may just make her feel down about herself like this question. SASCA or SACA look it up

No she is not still a virgin, why is that the only thing that she's worried about. She just got raped.

Medically, no. Spiritually and emotionally you are wounded but because you never gave yourself to another you can still claim that you are a virgin. Or you could go back to the true meaning of the word "virgin" which only means a young woman that is unmarried. Your choice.

The Question is Emotive But the answer is just as emotive. Most young women today are not virgins in the strictest of senses anyway they tear the hymen (symbol of virginity in most cultures) themselves by the means of tampons etc. The actual meaning of virginity is untouched by mans hand. Since I personally believe that rapists are more beast than men, then i would suggest your friend is within her rights to say she is virginal but not in the strictest of senses, but then neither can many young women who use tampons.

I think that your virginity is something to give to a man and so I feel like she never GAVE it to anybody. Physically, no she isn't, but in her mind she should be.

from the outside looking in, no she is not. to her, emotionally and mentally she can be if she chooses. Emotionally, if she wanted her first to be with someone she loved, that can still happen and be a great experience for her. it's all about how she sees herself and feels about herself now. if she wants to be considered a virgin, emotionally and mentally she can be until she has sex with someone she loves and cares about.

Physically she is not a virgin anymore. But, since she was not a willing participant and has not "made love" to any one, I would say technically she is still a virgin. She just doen't have a hymen anymore.

you'd think trying to figure out if you are still a virgin would be the last thing on your mind after being raped.

that happened to me..and i asked myself that same question..i guess in truth no she is no longer a virgin..but if she doesnt want people knowing about what happened then she should just say she is a virgin.

Yes. I mean deep inside physically no shes not, but losing your virginity is something that you chose to do. Its something you give to someone else willingly.
