i was wondering what happens to the atmosphere when a space shuttle goes through. It seems it would eventually leave holes.

The space shuttle does not contribute to global warming. It's total effect is less than a millionth of a billionth of other factors that are adding greenhouse gases to the atmosphere.

Another way to think of this: one space shuttle launch is equivalent to about two minutes of gasoline consumption in the United States.

When a space shuttle passes through the atmosphere, it causes a local disturbence. As is approaches and passes through the speed of sound, a shock wave forms that causes a sonic boom that can be heard for miles. But the shock wave only lasts a short time. No 'holes' are formed in the atmosphere, any more than driving a car leaves a hole in the atmosphere.

Each launch does leave a hole in the ozone layer, but it is small and close quickly. Anyway, ozone depletion is not the cause of global warming. Global warming is due to trapping of infrared light radiated from the warm ground by carbon dioxide and not due to more ultraviolet light reaching the ground through an ozone hole. Ozone depletion and global warming are two completely separate things. I don't understand why people constantly think they are the same thing, or think that they are somehow related. They aren't!

The effect is very small compared the the size of the earth. After a few million flights, the atmospher might be effected.
