The prospect of a god doing anything about it is ludicrous because one does not exist....and the fact that people state things like "by fire and in my lifetime" is terrifying to say the least.... and absolultely ridiculous. Anyhow, the earth will end like all other planets that have been something such as an earth, and then died. Fire won't do anything to earth and neither will flooding waters.....that's talking about the end of man, for the delusional. The planet will eventually overwhelm itself....so to speak. It will start traveling further away from the sun and eventually it's atmosphere will become unstable and allow for it's surface to be tainted. It will then go through a period of "starvation" whereby the overwhelming heat during the day and the extreme cold at night will not only kill all living things, but cause seismatic instability thus creating an atmosphere similar to mars, both on land and in the air. Gases will overcome the planet whereby it will become uninhabitable for even "outside" visitors.....such as us returning for any reason. Because remember, to propagate our species we WILL have to leave this planet....as millions of other civilizations have done across the universe. The time table for all of this to occur? About 1 billion years for this planet to become nothing. Unless of course a catastrophic event such as a meteorite changes it's mind and strikes planet earth. There is no god, but I'm quite sure there are entities of a humanoid stature that are out there and much much more intelligent than us, and they couldn't care less how we conduct business as long as we aren't a threat to them......So that would probably be a good idea, you know, to not piss off the aliens.....Because in reality, they are our "gods." be well, Jack

Earth? - In about 4.5 billions of years the Sun will expand and destroy it. The human race, however, will become extinct long before that, and that would take either a nuclear holocaust or catastrophic climate change.

i think we'll end up in some soylent greeny type of world..
where everything is in chaos.. women are furniture..
real food is hard to come by.. and we will all be eating astronaut food..

i imagine if the world keeps going the way it is what with all the wars and talk of nuclear weapons.. maybe another 30 yrs.. before the world goes to hell..

kinda like in a jerico situation (that new tv show)

It could end as soon as tomorrow, but it may be hundreds, thousands, perhaps even millions of years from now. Only God knows and He ain't telling - He just says we should live each day like it were our last without fear, and full of love for each other!

Merry Christmas!

Lessons from history tells me we will blow the whole thing up just because we can. We humans are as destructive as we can be and it’s just a matter of time in my opinion. When? Maybe soon.

okay...the world will end with fire...it says in the bible...it will be a while...but it's very close...it says something about how the antichrist will sign a pact with israel and will break it half way into the pact...and then there's some other things to deal with it...hope that helps
