Wouldn't YOU get tired sitting up on your feet all day? He's just resting when he does that... Don't fret! Bunnies do a lot of things that may seem strange to us at first, but they're really just acting naturally. Also, rabbits tend to lay more during the summer months when it's hotter outside. Bunnies love the cold and usually are more energetic during those times. Maybe he was just tired from a long day of playing on the day you caught him lounging!
BEST WISHES!!!

I didn't find that my dwarf bunnies did that but instead would fall asleep in a sit position and than fall over on their side and remain asleep. I found by watching my rabbit that is just what he would do and it had nothing to do with activity level.

I am not sure about rabbits, but my cats do this. It is just because they are feeling relaxed and playful. It's like "I feel a little tired, so I am going to flop here now".

this rabbit is from the outdoors and he comes up to our porch to eat. Then today, I saw him laying on his side and I thought he was dead, but after awhile he got up and trotted off. Whew!

The one pet rabbit I owned used to do that when he got tired. He'd sort'a flop over in that I'm tired don't bother me position on his side.

my rabbit does that all the time. She throws her self on her side and falls to slip at the side of the cage.

Usually they do that when they are overheated, but unless you're in california, i dont see how that is possible this time of year (two days ago it was 80 degrees in riverside, ca)
