ohhhh just you wait....

im kidding...there is nothing you can do to prevent stretch marks...as much as people like to say that slathering cocoa butter on your body will prevent them...they wont....is all depends on the elasticity of your skin, and unfortunately we cannot change that!!!

i am 38 weeks pregnant...i was a very thin girl when i got pregnant...i have gained 45 lbs this pregnancy (which is my first)....i noticed my stretch marks early because i was so thin before...i dont have many, but i have a few on the insides of my thighs and my hips...unfortunately, because i am 1/2 filipina and 1/2 italian they are a greyish brown (they look like the linea nigra that goes down my stomach)

i have a friend who didnt get any stretch marks until 1 week before she delivered...and she got them on her belly!!!!

good luck with your pregnancy

I had no stretch marks at all! I drank lots of water and stayed away from caffeine and sugar. Also, I lotioned up from shoulders to my knees everyday after I showered with Palmer's Stretch Mark Lotion with Shea Butter. I am a little on the fair side as far as my complexion. I never had any problems with "pregnancy pimples". I atttribute that to all the water and staying away from sugar. Caffeine dehydrates your skin and its not the healthiest for baby.

I know a lot of people say that stretch marks are hereditary; However, my mother and my sister both have really bad stretch marks or stretch mark scars. I never got the first one and I was not vigilant with my diet or exercise until I was 21.5 weeks along.(that is how far along I was when I found out I was pregnant.)

Good luck and congrats! I'll even keep my fingers crossed for you!!!

Well I got 3 tiny ones on my side above my pantie line that is all! My friend did not start getting them till she was about 28 weeks along and now they are bad!! I would look at your mom that is a good indicator of what you will do.

Ps my friend was so excited saying I will not get them then she woke up and boom!!! SO do not rule them out till after you give birth..that is when I noticed mine!! I have a light complexion and so does my friend but I have another friend who is more dark complected and she had them and they are purple and have staid that way. Mine you can not see now, they are almost invisible but that happens a lot with light people.( pretty normal complexion)

Ps I gained 28 lbs the whole time!!

Pss. I did not use lotion either I think it is over rated I broke out when I did use it but DO NOT scratch!!

I have had one child already and I got few stretch marks. But I did recieve them in my last weeks of pregnancy. However, I do have friends who have even less, that I can't even notice them. From what I hear try and not to scratch your belly or breasts which causes stretch marks. Also, use viatmin E and coco/shea butter should cut back on some of the stretch marks. Hope this helps.

Well I am African Amercan and 30 weeks along and I don't have any stretch marks. I also didnt get any on my stomach with my first child either. But keep your fingers crossed, you still have a quite a few more weeks to grow and stretch.

I'm caucasian and didn't get a single stretch mark my first pregnancy. If your worried you may get some you can find plenty of stretch mark recipes on the internet with a little bit of searching. I tried Palmer's cocoa butter my second pregnancy and it didn't help now i have stretch marks on my hips.

I did not get a single one. My complection is fair. I lotioned my belly 3 times a day with shea butter lotion and never exposed it to sunlight. I don't know if that was the reason, but it couldn't hurt to try. A friend of mine never got stretch marks either, but she did get shrink marks after the birth.

i didnt' have stretch marks but my mom and sister did. The difference was, I used cocoa butter throughout my pregnancy. I put it all over so I wouldn't get stretch marks, my sisters friend also used cocoa butter she only had stretch marks where she didn't put the lotion. Keep your skin moisturized.

my sister in law has 3 children and has NO stretch marks. I hate her for that :D I have tons and I am due in 7 days with my first and hardly gained any weight compared to her.
She has dark hair and so do I but we're both Caucasian. It's all up to genetics and luck how bad you get them.

my mom. before she had her three kids she was 105 pounds. she was so skinny. She went up to 130 during all of her pregnancies, didnt get any stretch marks and about 2 weeks after delivering she was back to 105. It depends on how easily you scar.
