Whitney HOuston's version was a good cover of Dolly's song. The story behind the song really makes it a very unique song and yes it is a little sad but you have to appreciate the sound of it when it is well delivered.

Irritating. Whitney is irritating and the song got way too much repetitive airplay.

this song is an all time great! i guess it would all depend on your current relationship status. if you have nobody the song would be sad. if there is somebody special in your life it would be happy.

It's definately a sad song. That film was stupid - they found each other, fell in love then decided the reason they couldn't be together was cos of their jobs...that's just stupid!

It can happen, the song is great but the feeling and devotion is far more than you would expect.Never-mind what happens in life, you will never forget what you had ,and it will stay a part of you.Best regards Billy Bob T

I loved it the first 6 times I heard it, then I rapidly began to hate it because my neighbour played it on a loop for weeks on end, it was like torture.

Yeah thats weird. Sing a song that is less relevant and sung by another man. What about "My Girl"

Prefer Dolly's version!
Prefer the film that Dolly's version is from.
