ok...

considering that percentage is generally (ie. always) represented as between 0 and 100, 40 is quite an easy number...

let a equal number of correct answers...
let b equal 100
let c equal the percentage

2.5a/b*100 = c

that is: 2.5*a (80) / b(100) *100 = c (80)
