A lot of the Structure decks start off pretty good and most Yu-gi-oh! decks are pretty good. The second part of that question is the hard part now....what cards go into a deck should be based on what way you want to beat your opponent....whether it be deck destruction, beat down, exodia....etc it just depends on your own personal dueling style.

It depends on what version you're playing.
On Nightmare Troubadour I use Double Costons in my deck so I can summon Dark Magicians with only 1 summon, I also have Sword Of The Deep Seated, (or something), and Yami, so I can increase it's ATK to that rivalling the EGC's.
Mirror Force and Magic Cylinders can also cause a great deal of discomfort to your opponent too, also, I have a Blue Eyes White Dragon and Swords Of Revealing Light in my deck, just to pad it out.
If you can get them, the EGC's are nice to make your opponent panic, though these are something difficult to get up, the same again for Blue Eyes Ultimate Dragon, since it has an ATK of 4500, but for this, you need 3 BEWD on the field.
Try to keep to around 40 cards, 10 spell cards, 10 trap cards, 12 normal summons, 5 one cost summons and 3 two cost summons or there about, keep in mind that Fusion summons don't count towards your deck count, though most of the time you will need Polymirisation or something within your deck, and possible a few of them, just in case your opponent uses something like Gravekeepers Servant or Deck Destruction Virus.
