When I try to open Intenet Explorer, it opens for about 1 second, but then closes. Any suggestions?

Sounds like a virus, I would suggest using ad aware by Lavasoft and switch to Firefox as your browser, most viruses are written for IE.

right click on you IE then Internet option then go advanced tap on
the right restore to default.

Is it IE v6 or IE v7? Also, what version of Windows are you using?

I would say you just go to Tools on the menu, press connections, then press connect.

you have a virus get avg free antivirus and spybot and scan your computer
