Is it really that simple for these schmucks in office to continue ignoring the obvious and continue putting money in their wallets instead of working on ideas to help better protect mankind? Please. Someone has to step in and say......whoa!!! STOP!!! Do we want this planet in this much turmoil or is money really that important that it is makes it easier to sleep at night knowing that it's not your generation you have to worry about?

that is not the govts power. You all want the govt to have less power, and do more stuff at the same time.

Americans = oxymorons (And thats not bashing, its the truth! I am one of them)

i wouldn't want a standard car, i want to be able to get a car that is better than the jones' car.

but i'm guessing that what you are getting at is a more environmentally friendly standard vehicle, not necessarily all the same vehicles. in this case, the economic damage which would be caused by completely stopping vehicle production would be enormous.

granted, the complete destruction of the environment would be worse.

instead there should be some middle ground, where cars are still being manufactured yet we are still working on making them more 'green'. in fact i think that's what we are doing now; although i wouldn't mind a little more pressure from the government on auto manufacturers to come up with greener engines.

The government already has a solution to the problem, it is a vehicle that runs on water. This technology has been around for at least 25 years.

The answer to your question was actually answered by you. The schmucks in office want the money going in their pockets, regardless of whether it is at the expense of this generation or the next.
